I'm in San Diego right now, testing out if I can update on here from my Sidekick (if it works, I can post about my trip while on the road).
The shower was a huge success...Sara, Trisha, and Evie outdid themselves, and Sue put together the most amazing food displays. Unfortunately, mom, Chris, and I were stuck in traffic for over 4 hours, so we only caught the tail-end of the shower, but it was still wonderful.
A bunch of us went out to dinner at Joe's Crab Shack for Andrew's birthday...and we got to watch him run around the bar on a pony-on-a-stick, while wearing a football helmet and waiving a light saber.

Well, I'm gonna get some breakfast, then we're heading home, and Doc and I are leaving out on our trip late afternoon...I'm so excited!
See ya.

On the Road Again

I'm getting ready to head out on the big road trip with Doc. I'm so excited - we're going up to Portland, via the California/Oregon coast. We'll be leaving Sunday late afternoon, and staying in Santa Maria the first night. Then I think we're gonna book it up to Northern Cali and camp out, then to Portland. We have sort of a "fly by the seat of our pants" mentality, so nothing's really set in stone. I'm just excited to get out of this place and see some beautiful scenery. :)

Tonight I'm going to an outdoor movie screening they have at LACMA - they're showing Mad Hot Ballroom. It's a lot like the Cemetery screenings they have in Hollywood - you sit on the grass and can picnic and stuff, but this one is free (even better). However, they don't allow alcohol at LACMA like they do the cemetery, so it's sort of a toss-up. I'm thinking about sneaking in some "grape juice" for everyone...it would go so well with everything. :)

Chris, our mom, and I are going to San Diego tomorrow morning - our cousin Andrew is getting married in a few weeks, and we're having a Bridal Shower for his fiancé Lisa. I'm so excited for the two of them. :) I'm excited to see my family too - I haven't seen them all in soooo long.

Well, just stopped by for a sec, I have to get back to cleaning my house...sigh. I'd like to get it to at least a "presentable" stage before I leave on the road trip, which only leaves today really. eeeps!

see ya.

Wise Words

I'm cleaning my house right now, and ran across this while Windexing my fridge. My father gave it to me a few years ago for Christmas - I can't remember if it's my grandmother or great-grandmother's handwriting - but I love the expression (especially the "Oot").

Calm and Cool

I'm finally starting to sink into this thing called relaxation. It's so foreign to me, I think it's going to take a few more days. I devoted yesterday to sleeping in, reading a little of the 6th Harry Potter book, cleaning my car, and watching the 2nd Harry Potter movie with Doc. It was really a perfect day overall.

Today I'll be focussing on the mountain of clothes that line my bedroom floor. I can't wait to have clean clothes - it feels like I haven't done laundry in months. Hopefully it won't take more than a few hours at they laundrymat. I think I'll bring my book along and just relax and read. :) Hopefully I can conquer a little of the mess in my living room too. It's amazing how quickly things can get messy when you're too busy to clean up regularily.

Ok - I better get started cleaning while I'm motivated. :)

Done

Yesterday marked the finish to my first "year" at Otis. It went so fast, I'm still standing around expecting more to happen for foundation year. But for now, I have a few weeks off...thank god. I'll comment more once I have sufficiently caught up on sleep...see you in a few days.
