Mourning the Loss of Hope
I love the U.S., and all that it stands for. But I'm ashamed to live in a country that is filled with the types of people it is. Last night I got sucked into a 1/2 hour rant from a woman in one of my classes; going off about how everyone should vote for Bush, because he doesn't believe in "killing our babies", and that God will choose what's right for our country. I returned home shaking my head, thinking, wow, I can't believe there are still people out there like this. It wasn't until this morning, when I woke up to realize that Bush had won reelection, that I realized that our country is obviously full of these narrow-minded, ignorant people. To vote Bush in for another term is scary enough, but then to say that they're voting him in because of "moral issues" is just plain ridiculous.
I'm scared of what's going to happen to our country. I honestly feel nauseous today.
